(4/24/14) Union members rallied at more than 50 locations in 27 states protesting the USPS decision to outsource Postal services in Staples stores across the country. When addressing a large group of Union demonstrators in Washington D.C., President Hegarty said “The outsourcing endangers the sanctity and security of the mail. We are highly trained, skilled postal employees, and they want to give it to employees who really don’t know anything about the mail.” Union supporters marched, chanted and drummed in peaceful opposition; demonstrators carried signs that read “Stop Staples. The US Mail is Not for Sale.”
