On the final day of 2012 NPMHU National Convention, delegates met for a morning session only.
Sen. John Tester (D-MT) delivered this morning’s opening video message, as the fifth day of the 2012 Convention started.
As the delegates were seated in the Convention Hall this morning, they were greeted with a video message from Rep. Steven Lynch (D-MA).
Wednesday’s Convention business began at 8:00 AM, with the start of voting in the primary election for two of the National Officer positions: Regional Vice President in the Eastern Region and Regional Vice President in the Southern Region.
The Convention reconvened this morning for the second day of the NPMHU’s centennial celebration. In an opening message from Rep. Peter Defazio (D-OR), the Congressman encouraged Mail Handlers to continue to fight for their collective bargaining rights.
The much anticipated 2012 National Convention of the NPMHU began today, bringing approximately 280 delegates together from across the nation to “Honor the Past” and “Shape the Future” of the National Postal Mail Handlers Union.
Over the past three days, the Committees that have been appointed to make recommendations to the Convention delegates have been hard at work finalizing their reports and making final preparations.
The 2012 NPMHU National Convention will convene next Monday, August 6, at the Downtown Hilton Hotel in Portland, Oregon.
This is the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the NPMHU, and the theme of the Convention is “Honor the Past, Shape the Future.”
