NPMHU fights to protect the legislative interests of all mail handlers and promote deeper involvement of its members in the legislative and political arenas. The legislative priorities of the 117th Congress include:
- Building on the Postal Service Reform Act (P.L. 117-108) to improve the Postal Service's finances and increase revenue;
- Protecting service standards;
- Fighting threats of privatization;
- Fortifying the earned benefits of postal employees and retirees;
- Promoting collective bargaining rights and the right to organize for all workers; and,
- Strenghtening American elections.
