Dear Sisters and Brothers,

As the Senate moves on their reconciliation bill, elected officials decided that the federal deficit should be balanced on the backs of future Mail Handlers.

Language is being proposed that would call for increases to FERS contribution rates for those hired after December 31, 2025, to 9.4% of their paycheck.

The Postal Service already struggles to recruit and retain Mail Handlers. By asking for new workers to contribute almost ten percent of their paycheck to retirement, the Senate is making working for the Postal Service unaffordable.

Contact your Senators and let them know the budget cannot be balanced on the backs of Mail Handlers.
