NPMHU is committed to protecting the privacy of our users' personally identifiable information. To better protect the privacy of our members and visitors, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices users can make about the way their information is used at the site.
Information Collection and Use
Web Site Visitors
In general, you can visit many of our web pages without telling us who you are. We may use information about your activities on the site and your computer equipment to improve our site, including content and layout (see Non-Personally Identifiable Information, below). However, individual users will remain anonymous, unless you voluntarily provide personal information.
Personally Identifiable Information
Where individuals log in to the "members only" parts of the site, we collect certain personally identifiable information. The types of personally identifiable information we collect may include: name, address, local union, e-mail address, and postal facility.
NPMHU uses your personally identifiable information only to provide the members with the services they have contracted us for, and to offer you the opportunity to learn about our service.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
We may collect certain non-personally identifiable information about our users when they visit many of our web pages such as the type of browser they are using (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer), the type of operating system they are using (e.g., Windows or Mac OS), and the domain name of their Internet service provider (e.g., America Online, Earthlink).
We use the non-personally identifiable information that we collect to improve the design and content of our site and to enable us to personalize users' Internet experience. We also may use this information in the aggregate to analyze site usage, as well as to offer products or services.
Legal Process and Corporate Restructuring
We may disclose personally identifiable information in response to legal process or when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, for example, in response to a court order, subpoena, or a law enforcement agency's request. In addition, in the event that all or substantially all of NPMHU's stock and/or assets are transferred or sold to another entity, NPMHU may transfer such information to the acquiring entity.
NPMHU may contact members to provide them with opportunities to purchase products or services that may be of interest to them. If members prefer not to receive marketing information from this site, just let us know by sending us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NPMHU uses temporary (session) "cookies" to enhance users experience with our site. A "cookie" is a piece of information that our Web site sends to your browser, which then stores this information on your system. Temporary (session) cookies exist only during an online session with us. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer, and they are not able to "invade" your hard drive and return to the sender personal or other information from your computer. We cannot use our cookies to determine any personally identifiable information about users.
We use temporary (session) cookies to help us make sure you are who you say you are after you've logged in. The information contained in these cookies consists of random data that is used by the server to authenticate the browser requests to the server for that particular session. If you choose not to accept a temporary cookie, you will not be able to navigate in our online applications.
Collection of Information by Others
Our site contains links to other Web sites whose information practices may be different than ours. Users should consult the other sites' privacy notices, as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent against unauthorized access to information that we collect online. In addition, we use encryption technologies when transferring and receiving certain sensitive information exchanged with our site.
Reviewing and Updating Your Information
If members would like to review the personally identifiable information we have collected about them online that we maintain, they may do so by logging in to the online application or by sending an email request to us at email@example.com.
