Calling all Mail Handlers: Please Participate in Nationwide Petition Drive
In the wake of the very successful September 27th “Save America’s Postal Service” rallies, the four postal unions have now regrouped to focus efforts on exerting additional pressure on Congress to adopt responsible solutions to the current postal financial crisis.
This next phase of the "Save America’s Postal Service" campaign is a national petition drive to urge Congress to preserve six-day delivery, to maintain processing and retail facilities, and to defend service standards -- because this is crucial to the future of the Postal Service.
The focus of the NPMHU membership during this phase of the campaign will be on collecting signatures to oppose closings of post offices and mail processing facilities, and on preserving the current service standards.
We ask all interested parties to download our Petition, and to immediately begin collecting signatures from friends, family, neighbors, and anyone else who will join us in this fight to Save America’s Postal Service.
Our message is clear: Congress created the USPS financial crisis, and CONGRESS CAN FIX IT — without dismantling its postal network, without drastic cuts in service or massive layoffs, and at no cost to taxpayers. (Click here to learn more about how Congress can help)
