As expected and discussed with your local union officers at the recent Semi-Annual Meeting of the Local Unions, the Postal Service notified National President John Hegarty on September 14, 2011 of its Network Optimization program. President Hegarty and National Secretary-Treasurer Mark Gardner have informed all Local Union Officers about what the USPS plans to do, recognizing that there are many steps involved in this feasibility study process. The National Union will continue to coordinate closely with the leadership at all NPMHU Local Unions as this effort evolves.
